Yesterday I traveled to Aspen and Snowmass with my grandmother and friend. I loved the overall feel of Aspen and of course the setting it resided in.
The clouds rolled in and out all afternoon casting beautiful light and shadows across the mountains.
The following morning we went to look at St. Benedict’s Monastery in Old Snowmass. It was an absolutely gorgeous morning with lots of winds and clouds rollin in and out. The monks and people staying there were no where to be found and we had the wide open landscape pretty much to ourselves.
I love all the colors that are starting to change around fall. The expanse of space allowed you to see tons of colorful Colorado.
The door to the gift shop and Chapel. Love the rounding door and crazy wooden staff lying beside it. Definitely an old mountain settler feel. The monastery has been around since the 1900’s.
And then I ran into some cow friends… they just stared at me.
It’s always awesome seeing the rain falling over the mountains. It never actually rained where we were.
And then this was the view on the way out. Gorgeous layers on plants and colors lined the landscape. Definitely a wonderful place and somewhere to go back to.
