A week ago my mother and I had a jewelry show at our home in Charlotte. It was wonderful but since then I have been looking to rebrand my work to something more modern. After lots of sketching and thinking I discovered the word OMOROSE, an ancient egyptian word for beautiful. I love the way it sounds and the connotation that the word releases. So from there I worked on a logo. While I am still tweaking and working on certain points of it I wanted to share the new logo with you all, as well as, the new jewelry.
Here is the new logo! A combination of the symbol for goddess, as well as, the native american symbol for chief, I believe the new logo evokes feelings of strength and mystic.
My goal for my brand, and hopefully my future company is to combine the traditional with the modern, in new and thought provoking combinations.
A lot of my most recent work has dealt with beadwork, bead weaving and found objects. Some of these have been sold but the rest will be added to my etsy site in the upcoming week.
Many of the motifs used in my bead weavings have been inspired by ancient Navajo, and Turkish designs.
Check out my instagram @josephine_virginia for a cool video to watch this bracelet being made!
These past two are unique in that the bigger beads are from Prague in the Czech Republic.
This last bead woven one is my favorite bead weaving from recent.
These next few pieces all use found rocks from hikes this summer in Colorado. The natural beauty of these rocks astounds me, I find myself stopping every couple minutes on hikes to pick up more stones.
Last but not least is another one similar to the last bracelet. One working with beads and pendants, over kitted mesh wire. In the upcoming months I am planning to make more of these. I love the detail that I am able to get on these smaller pieces.
So here is the new OMOROSE jewelry line! Hope you all enjoy it. When the etsy is updated I’ll be sure to let you know!
