The weather here in Vail has started to transition from Summer to Winter, and I mean in a very past pace. The trees are beautiful changing from green to bright yellow, with a smidge of unique trees turning red. You can see the colors progress over the mountains in a way that is lost everywhere else during fall. But there has also been a couple days that have already brought snow on the tops of the mountains and last night finally into the Valley. I, personally, am one to get excited about the colder temperatures and the snow. The snow along with the dustings of fall color has been giving the entire place gorgeous color palettes. Here are some my more recent photographs.
Most of these where taken on the drive back to Piney Lake and at Piney Lake. The lighting was changing rapidly the whole time we made the trip.
Once again the Aspens were captivating…
The view from Piney River Ranch and the hike into Piney Lake is breathtaking. Especially with the fresh dusting of snow on the tops of the peaks. I tried to narrow down the pictures I took and edited to put up but somehow still ended up with quite a lot. Hope you enjoy,
There is a reason they call it “Colorful Colorado”.
Lastly here are some pictures taken on another hike a day later.
Meet my roomates dog “Bear”, he loves hiking and wrestling (he thinks he is a small dog).
So I hope you’ve enjoyed these pictures as the seasons change. I definitely will try to get some more before the whole place is white with snow. The rockies continue to impress me with their beauty, and it delights me to be able to share that beauty with you.
