While I was in San Francisco I took a day trip over to Sausalito, a small beach town across the bay. A bit quieter and more laid back from the city Sausalito offers a quaint small town feel. The town houses tons of boats, ranging from sailboats, to yachts, to an extensive and eclectic collection of house boats. There is even a house boat which looks like the Taj Mahal. Here are a few of the ones that captured my attention.

I took the ferry back to San Francisco and it was well worth the $13? I think it was 13 at least. If you take it to the ferry building the ride is a perfect overview of the area. Plus the ferry building houses a huge market with tons of different places to eat. I got a grilled cheese from Cowgirl Creamery and wow it was the best grilled cheese I have ever had. Local cheese made only a couple miles down the road, it doesn’t get much better than the happy California cows.

If you’re in the area I highly recommend doing this one morning. It gives you a taste of the area of a whole, outside of the 7×7. And who doesn’t love a ferry??

with love,

Josie
