More pictures from London! This is the entrance way to the new campus of Central St. Martins college. I love the fact that the building used to be a shipping warehouse where trains would move cargo. The whole building is done wonderfully and really does a great job of helping to inspire students. This building is located directly behind Kings Cross Station. These next two photographs are both Instagrams from my time there. There was an exhibit of art telephone booths, this one could be found at Spitalfields Market.
While I was there the city was prepping for the 2012 Summer Olympics. I loved the Tower Bridge’s Olympic rings. It really brought out something modern combined with the classic London icon. I also love that there is a classic double decker bus driving through the middle. This was taken on one of the two sunny days that I had while there.
This next shot baffled me with lighting, with the sun coming the other direction I am not sure how there are the sunny shadows on the side of the Tower of London castle.
Taken on that same sunny day this city scape of London is one of my favorites. Walking along the south bank will give you such a great view of the whole city. While taken in the culture at each of the bridge points. I also love the architecture of London the effortless combination of old and new is something most cities try to achieve and fail. London brings in the old to compliment the new, here seen with St. Pauls and the Gherkin. The bridges along the Thames also alternate between classic and modern architecture styles.
The rare occasion of a sunny day like this one helps to bring out all the true beauty of the city.
